The Quizmaster General (The QMG) is The North East’s Leading Quiz Provider, with a substantial following, a professional creditable reputation, and a massive social media presence. Hosting around 15 per week, Quizzes are of course what The QMG specialises in, however, we do offer a range of services and currently host 70+ events per month!!

Need a Party DJ for any occasion? How about a professional compere to host an event, fundraiser or party? If you’re showing / attending the football, what about some ‘Match Day Music & Build Up’? I also host Race Nights, Boozy Bingo, & even Themed Events!

Having been a GM within the hospitality sector for nearly two decades, The QMG is familiar with what works best, where, and when, with ‘Event Planning’ experience in abundance to bespoke any event to suit. Always delivering a humorous, outgoing, professional approach to the role of a Compere, Host or DJ. Due to popularity, and current volume of events, The QMG works alongside many ‘Mini Masters’ to accommodate as The QMG simply can’t do it all alone. Each one of these ‘Mini Masters’ has been tried, tested, trained, and even poached to make sure standards are kept across all events for a guaranteed fun filled packed night!

The QMG was lucky enough to work in over 50 different establishments around the Northeast in 2024, which continued to grow rapidly throughout 2025.

'Alreet Pete'

This sexy, sophisticated, cricket playing, teacher, drummer & Jurgen Klopp looking Mackem is ‘Alreet Pete’. A good friend of The QMG and one of the best quiz hosts in the industry. Delivering his own style of quizzes whilst representing The QMG brand to an exceptional standard. ‘‘Alreet Pete’ ran his own successful quiz nights for nearly two decades before The QMG convinced him to join the regime. You’ll find Pete hosting numerous events often giving away more prizes than questions, and if your not sure of an answer.. ‘LEAVE IT OUT’ (yes – he has his own catchphrase). *PLEASE NOTE – All our hosts are volunteers. 'The Hummingbird'

Think of The QMG & The Hummingbird as Yoda and Luke Skywalker. Or, Mr Miyagi & The Karate Kid. Or even Mufasa & Simba, Mickey & Rocky, or Coach Ken Carter and the whole Basketball Team – you get our point. The QMG’s Mentee. This cool, crazy, music loving chick, is Kayleigh, who somehow has been landed with the Quiz Host title of ‘The Hummingbird’. Our most professional and positive host, with a willingness to deliver and entertain at every opportunity. She’s been a regular face under The QMG brand for a few years now, having attended our quizzes for years previously, and then requesting to get involved. 'Rocking Robbo'

When The QMG first blew up, back in the day, the first person The QMG requested support from was ‘Rocking Robbo’. The QMG’s old mate, former Teacher, and The UK record holder for the second worst contestant to ever appear on TV’s Mastermind. There hasn’t been a TV Quiz show he hasn’t appeared on in fairness, as you may also recognize him from shows like, The Weakest Link, Pointless, Winner Takes It All and Countdown, to name but a few. Our Quiz Host Veteran, packed with brains and confidence with a quiz ready to go at any given moment (with a guaranteed ‘Inspector Morse’ or ‘Eurovision’ question somewhere in there). One of The QMG’s oldest and closest mates. The QMG has been courting this guy longer than Mrs. QMG. He has eventually decided in 2024, after 15 years of being The QMG’s bezzie mate to finally host some quizzes.
